 Developing
a class homepage is a wonderful way to highlight the events
in your classmates’ lives.
Our portal makes it easy to upload and host a free class homepage
whatever your web savvy.
Volunteer as your class webmaster. Details
- You can host your own web pages FREE on our server.
- You design, we upload! Includes Free technical support
all the way.
- Already have a site with homestead, rediff, geocities?
Migrate an existing class webpage to this portal and get
rid of the annoying ads.
- You can post announcements and pictures on your own
portion of the website, with complete style and functional
control. Manage your own newsletters.
- We provide you with sub domains - Have a url of your
own!! e.g., http://EC2004.rit-ktm.com OR http://london-alumni.rit-ktm.com

| Design
Guidelines |
 We
would like the individual websites to maintain an identity
of their own, and the webmasters (Web Authors) not to feel
creatively shackled.
The batches and departments are encouraged to work out a consistent
color theme utilizing their own templates for their sites
(Sub Domains).
- Templates: You should maintain consistency in
design and navigation. The basic elements for consistency
are the header, background, and navigation box on left.
This should be the same throughout your site. You may
adjust font sizes as needed, but the styles must remain
compatible with the template design. Optional: We can
provide you with a CSS file and/or template that matches
rit-ktm.com so that your site will match rit-ktm.com
- Banner: We expect you to make a header banner
that represents your website and have it at the top of
all the pages. Optional: If you want templates, we will
provide you with one that matches rit-ktm.com
- Copyright: Web Authors will be responsible for
getting permissions necessary for use of copyrighted materials
and photographs. Copyright permission applies to the use
of text, logos, photographs, drawings, video clips, sound
clips or other copyrighted visual images. Copyright information
should be visible at the bottom of all the pages, along
with contact information. A sample copyright information
is as follows: © 2005 "batch-name" or "author-name", All
rights reserved.
- Contact Info: Contact information is a must in
all the pages, preferably at the bottom, along with copyright
information. Optional: We would appreciate if you add
the following after Copyright/ Contact info: "This website
is a part of RIT-KTM.com" OR "Part of RIT-KTM.com".
- Images: Images must be optimized to insure fast
downloads. Please use a standard software like Photoshop
to reduce the size of photos. Also resize bigger photos
to fit inside a maximum width of 600 pixels.

| Restrictions
|
 All
web pages must contain appropriate content. Web pages may
not contain content that is inflammatory, harassing in nature,
sexist, racist or otherwise inappropriate. Web pages to be
hosted on our server may not contain material that defames
others, is obscene, pornographic or libelous.
- No material should be portrayed in a false or offensive
manner to anyone.
- Limit the total External links to one per site. If possible
avoid linking to any site that doesn't deal with our college.
Exception: You can link to the author's (Your own) personal
website from any one page.
- No animated test or images, please.
- Avoid frames if possible. Search Engines hate frames.
- No ads, no 3rd party banners, no externally linked images.

 By
uploading your site to our server, you have agreed to abide
by and follow the rules created by RIT-KTM.com at all times.
There are no exceptions to the rules. RIT-KTM.com has the
right and option to change the rules posted here without prior
notice. Assuming the role of a Sub Domain Web Author means
that you have..
- Agreed to abide by the Web guidelines and design standards
as posted in the site RIT-KTM.com
- Understand that the Design Guidelines and Restrictions
may change from time to time.
- Will maintain your own Sub Domain and will make sure
the pages conform to the above guidelines and restrictions.
Please write to the webmaster @ rit-ktm.com with the desired
subdomain name (for batches, associations - eg., http://ee2005.rit-ktm.com/)
or directory name (for individuals - eg., http://rit-ktm.com/jdoe/)
